Taiwan

I haven't been taking advantage of living in Taiwan. I want to see more, and experience more things while I'm here. I'm trying to make more time for people and exploring.

Chinese

Learning a language is such a long and tedious process. The hard part is that there's always more to do with Chinese so I never feel done for the day. I'm struggling to find the balance of working hard enough to make progress and not letting it control my life.
For now, I'm going to make my main focus just my classes, Thought and Society, as well as an interpretation class.
In addition to class, I am trying to do more reading as it's enjoyable and one of the best ways to learn, I'm currently learning the translated version of Dune 2.

Getting back into DJing

I broke my external hard drive about 3 or 4 years ago and haven't done much DJing since then. I'm currently trying to rebuild my music library. It is a long and tedious process, but just part of it. I really miss the feeling of DJing and I think there are a lot of opportunities here in Taiwan if I just take the time to seize them. Since it's been so long, I'm definitely rusty and also trying to relearn some basic skills. My current goal is to get a gig in May.

Getting back into Production

Opening your DAW and trying to finish a song can be super intimidating. I also think I've developed a somewhat bad relationship with it because of the pressure I put on myself to make music in the past. Currently just starting slow and learning synthesis with Syntorial.
In the near future, I'm going to do a Music Theory and Song structure course.

Health

Dry Fighting Weight  3 times a week. It's basically just double kettlebell clean & press and squats for 30 minutes.
On off days I try to do some combination of snatches, and chest/back exercises.
I'm also working on some rehab for my foot and knee problems. Knees over toes guy has been really helpful here.
